RARELY are planning meetings so entertaining or so well attended. The decision to hold the Wheatley Hotel meeting at Ilkley Playhouse was fully vindicated when more than 200 people turned up to watch the show. It was perhaps a ploy by members of the Keighley Area Planning Panel, knowing that the stage contained a large trapdoor into which they could rapidly escape in a puff of smoke from the angry crowd had the decision gone the way of the developers.  more...
